What you will need

  • Insulated gloves
  • Wrench
  • Welder
  • Screwdriver
  • Cable coil
  • EVA Suit

Setting up the default tesla engine

1.Wrench in place all the Tesla coils and Grounding rods

2.Wrench and weld in place the Containment field generators , and turn them on

3.Grab the Tesla generator from the Particle accelerator chamber, and move it to the middle of the containment zone

4.Wrench and Weld all the Emmiters in place , then turn them on

5.Build up the Particle Accelerator

6.Wait for the containment zone to form , then turn on the Particle Accelerator at maximum power , the higher the better.

7.Wait for the Tesla Ball to form . If you've done everything right you should now have a full functional Tesla engine

Building your own tesla!

1.The containment zone

The containment zone is formed by the Containment field generators , they must be put perpendicular to eachother to work. They also have to be powered by an Emmiter and must be Wrenched and Welded to the floor
The containment zone can be any size , but it is preferable to keep it between 3x3 and 1x1 , more space is not necesarry for the tesla engine

2.Power generation and grounding rods

The tesla engine generates power by striking Tesla coils , these can be upgraded to generate as much as 4 times as much power than original , or changed to produce research points , by screwing the board before building the coil.
For them to generate power , they have to be wrenched down , and connected with a cable knot to the power grid. Straight cables will not count as connections. and then to be striked by a tesla shock.
After the Tesla coil have been shocked , the tesla shock will move to another coil , or to a Grounding rod , Grounding rods are necesarry to stop the shocks from going outside the engine and causing Explosions , they should be placed further away from the engine , usually 3-5 tiles away from the Tesla coils .The Grounding rods Only require to be wrenched to the ground to work , they do not need any sort of connection to the power grid
The tesla follows a certain order of shocking , it will always first shock the Tesla coils first , then it will move onto the Grounding rods , it should usually stop at the grounding rods , but if it has not , either by them missing or not being wrenched down , it will proceed to strike mobs first , then structures.

3.Emitter placement and wiring.

You will need Emmiters to power the Field generators , you should always wire these to the power grid that the Tesla coils are connected to , not the main power grid. This will make sure the containment zone will never run out of power.
To prevent the possibility of a antagonist saboutaging the engine , you should always lock the Emitters with your ID , and wall them off behind glass.

4.Starting the engine

If you have correctly applied all the knowledge, the containment field is running , and have set up the Grounding rods properly , without distancing them more than 3-5 Tiles and covering all the surroundings of the containment zone , you should go ahead and start the engine . To form the tesla ball you will need to fire particles at a Tesla generator using a Particle accelerator. A containment field can hold a unlimited amount of Tesla balls , but it will require more Grounding rods , as they cannot take more than 3 tesla shocks at once. The Particle accelerator and Tesla generator can be ordered from cargo.

5.The tesla ball

If you have done everything corectly , you should now have a functioning tesla engine . The Tesla ball will gain mini-balls the more power it has . A mini-ball is added for each 300 Power , and they all count as a shock . A Tesla ball will release a shock , but a Tesla ball with 7 Mini-balls will release 8 shocks. The more power it has the more power it will generate , as long as there are Tesla coils to shock.
